When eating at a restaurant where you do not have a waiter, tipping 18%+ is not necessary. Generally, 10% is appropriate if you’re just covering someone who is cleaning up after you. If it’s just counter/register service, a token $0.50, $1, or $2 may suffice, depending on the size of your order.
When having something catered/delivered, a % tip is usually not the best approach. Consider the time+effort required to deliver the food from the restaurant’s location, minus the delivery fee charged. For one delivery person, the combined tip + delivery fee should generally be less than $40.
